Hi - I’m a female solo traveler but wasn’t always this way. A couple of years ago I decided to stop waiting and start going. I had been thinking about a solo trip for some time but was nervous… what if I got bored? what if I got scared? who am I going to talk to? That’s when my motto for life became: I’ll never know unless I try. The worst that happens is I hate it and I just never do it again.

Let’s face it… traveling with people is not always easy and it’s not anyone’s fault. People have different expectations and travel styles. I love solo traveling because there is no more compromising and doing things that other people want to do - I am in full control of everything from the time I wake up, where I want to eat, what I want to see and where I want to go.

Most importantly, I’ve learned that waiting for the “perfect travel buddy” or “right time” is a scam invented by people who hate adventure. The world isn’t going to wait, and neither am I. So I booked the ticket, packed the bag, and started living my Independent Traveler Era—and spoiler alert: it’s fabulous.
